BioShock BioShock BioShock Bioshock...BioShock!
game: BioShock
news | 08/29/07 | Chris Martin
Tired of news about BioShock? We hear you. While our review is still baking in the oven, getting crispy on the edges, we came across a neat little factoid for all you fans of the old jest: \"My game is better, ha, ha!\" For it appears that BioShock not only has become critically received as one of the best games of all time, not only this year. According to www.Gamerankings.com, Bioshock has supplanted Resident Evil 4 in the #4 highest ranked game of all time, just below The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (N64), Soul Calibur (DC), and Metroid Prime (GC).

Review: Ultimate Ghosts 'n Goblins
game: Ultimate Ghost 'n Goblins
review | 10/07/06 | Matt James
Capcom has brought its beloved sidescroller Ghosts \'n Goblins to the next-gen of handhelds with Ultimate Ghosts \'n Goblins for PSP. The new visuals are pretty, and fans of the slightly wonky and completely manic classic GnG experience will be happy. But if you expect a true resurrection of this title on par with New Super Mario Bros. or Metroid, then you\'re likely to be dissapointed. Check out Matt\'s review for the details.

A Boy and His Rocket Dog: Metal Saga Review
game: Metal Saga
review | 06/02/06 | Amanda Bateman
Atlus and developer Success bring us Metal Saga, a sci-fi RPG set in a post-apocalyptic world where outlaws and monsters run rampant. You play a nameless boy on a mission to save the world. Does that sound like a typical RPG plot? Absolutely. But when you add in some clever humor, plenty of minigames and non-linear extras to explore, and canine companions sporting heavy military-style rocketry, it can\'t be all bad, can it? Amanda took on the challenge of Metal Saga. Get her rerview here.

Metroid Prime: Hunters Review
game: Metroid Prime: Hunters
review | 03/30/06 | George Holomshek
Since the release of the Nintendo DS gamers have been anticipating the DS-exclusive, Metroid Prime: Hunters. Featuring a funky touch-screen control style, Metroid-classic adventure gaming and a robust online multiplayer mode, Hunters might just be all it\'s cracked up to be. This is the first time the GF! staff has been so addicted to online multiplayer in a handheld shooter; a revamped friends system and voice chat enhance the experience in many ways. Our resident Nintendophile George found time to write up this review of Hunters in-between sessions of spanking GF! Assistant Editor, Aaron Stanton in online bouts. (7-0 Aaron? Are you sure you\'re qualified for this job?)

Ask Me About the Revolution
news | 09/22/05 | Aaron Stanton
Chris Kohler, contributor to Wired Magazine, had a chance to take Nintendo\'s Revolution for a run while he was at the Tokyo Game Show, and he\'s opened himself to questions. He\'s generously started a thread over on the Gaming-Age forums where he offers to answer people\'s requests for information. While the questions are not always great, Chris\'s responses are very informative, including discussing Metroid and how it felt on the controller. We personally don\'t recommend reading every post on the forum, but we do recommend that you scan down the page looking for every post by Kobun Heat, which is Chris Kohler\'s handle. That\'s where the goodies are.

Nintendo DS
game: Nintendo DS
review | 12/21/04 | Matt James
No one has a track record quite like Nintendo. From the classics like Mario and Metroid to the less than stellar outings like Virtua Boy, Nintendo has a greater combination of gold and flop than any company that comes to mind. Now we have the Nintendo DS. Does it shine like metal, or stink like vector red? Make sure you read about what could be one of the greatest Christmas gifts of the season.

In case you\'ve been living under a rock for the past two weeks, you know that Halo 2 is out. INTERVIEW - Niel Wiser, President & Founder of UltraPrime Network
Articles Archive | 01/19/03 | GF! Back Catalogue 10/2004 => 1995
The Evolvers: A well selected name for what could constitute an entirely new perspective on massively multiplayer gaming. For years there have been videogames that have attempted to mimic the look and feel of Hollywood: vampire slayers, star trekkers, bounty hunters “ slews of voice actors trying to mimic other people in the name of a good videogame. It's amazing how rarely they succeed. Similarly, there are times when storylines built with the controls of a console or played out on the screen of the PC are used to produce a feature film. Resident Evil. Final Fantasy.
